The Bramble

 
The Bramble is built on a simple idea: Writing flourishes in good company. We’re here to practice the craft, experiment, and encourage one another. As a supportive community, we follow a few shared agreements:
 
  • We're all writers here. There’s no such thing as “not a real writer” here. Everyone belongs.
  • We’re all learning and practicing. It's about growth, not perfection.
  • When someone shares their work, we treat it with care and respect.
  • We speak about the writing on the page, not the person who wrote it. Following the Amherst Writers & Artists way, we begin by noticing what’s strong, vivid, and memorable in a piece.
  • We don't judge and offer criticism only when the writer specifically invites it.
  • We share only what (and when) we're comfortable sharing. There’s no pressure to post or comment.
  • We're all humans here, sharing human-generated work.
 
This space is called "The Bramble" because stories tend to grow the way brambles do: a little wild, a little tangled, and in unexpected directions. So, as a community, let's branch out, cross paths, and create something lively and surprising together.
